Chapter 16

Nikita had dropped by the stadium to watch Aaron beat the opponent. He was indefeasible. He had left the impression on her to which she couldn’t resist. She held her head high to look for Aaron. It would seem that she was too much affected by his presence around. This time, he sat in the fifth row ahead of Nikita’s row. She waited until James went to use washroom.

“Hello!” She had pleasing look on her face.

“Hello.” Aaron took a deep breath, his glance shifted slowly to the face of Nikita.

“You were amazing today.”

“I’m sorry, what? Do I know you?” His eyes bulged on her with excitement.

“No, but I do. You won the fight today and I must say that I’m impressed.”

“Oh, thank you. But, I’ve just started it.”

“Good start then. I was in the crowd, cheering.”

“So you’re cheering for Mustafa. Because, where could I remember, none of the audience even knew my name. It felt so awkward. But, it was a nice experience.” Aaron raised his eyebrows.

“No, it’s just that, I have seen him winning fights earlier. But you, you changed the whole view. Not for me, but for the crowd. And what’s with that fist hit on his neck. How do you do that?”

“You really want to know. If you want, I can teach you. I’m sure as hell, beautiful people like you need some self-defense.”

Her foot swung to and fro. She smiled and nodded. She stared down at it and said, “I really do. How about we discuss it over a coffee?”

Aaron looked at Nikita and said solemnly. “Sure, But where?”

“Why don’t you take down my number and give me a call?”

Aaron picked up his phone. “What’s it?”

“950397....” She stopped after she passed her number as she looked at James walking towards her.

“No. No. That’s ok. Go on,” James said.

Aaron blushed at Nikita and said, “Will call you by tonight.”

“All right, I’ll go now.” Nikita walked away and hided herself from Aaron’s gaze.

James almost jumped from his seat and grabbed Aaron’s forearm.

“What did she say?”

“Nothing, just a fine.” Aaron laughed.

“Go and talk to her. She is amazing.”

“No. The pain is hurting so bad that I’m not even able to walk properly. Forget about impressing her now. Anyways, I have her number.”

“Your choice dude. But I should tell you that she is more than ordinary.”

“I know.” Aaron looked from his window, and caught his glimpse in the dark shaded mirror, and blushed, and lipped. “She was amazing”

As he has since admitted, he admired Nikita as the most beautiful lady he met till date. His mind went back to the moment of their talking. He like the neat sleek waves of her curls and the jaw-line put on by the smile. She was wearing a dress of some sky blue material with the touches of grey.

The following night, James handed over another small package, beautifully wrapped. When Aaron opened, he saw a million rupees check signed by Khalil on it to which he later thanked by calling him.
